DIGITAL POP ART PORTRAITS

To finish the topic of colour we've been working on an interesting activity based on the American artist ANDY WARHOL. He belonged to the POP ART movement which tried to portrait all the popular icons and objects of culture in 1950.
First Digital Students took selfies with the camera of their tablets and outlined the main features. Then, they applied primary colours in the first picture, secondary colours in the second portrait, terciary in the third one and, finally, their fave colour mixed with black and white in the last pic. They could combine different student's portraits to create a collage if they wanted. These are good examples:

POP ART PORTRAITS

These are some good examples of the activity done by my First Bilingual Students about colour. They used a picture of them, created a grid, copyed it four times on a cardboard and painted  with gouache paint. They applied primary colours in the first portrait, secondary colours in the second one, terciary colours in the third picture and, finally, their favourite colour mixed with black and white in the last portrait. This activity was based on the works by the american artist ANDY WARHOL. Great job!!

DESIGN FOR CHANGE: ACTÚA

¡¡Buen trabajo!!

CUT OUTS

Once upon a time, there was a French artist, HENRY MATISSE, who suffered a severe disease and couldn't paint anymore. Instead of giving up, he made up a new artistic technique to keep himself creative: the wonderful CUT OUTS. He said that it was like painting with scissors.
Inspired by this great artist, my First Digital Students are now working on a new installation, this time for their classroom. Using primary-colour-acetate sheets, they are drawing different compositions based on organic, natural shapes. The idea is to decorate the windows. It is not only an activity about colours and their mixtures, but also a contest. We all will choose the best design.
¡I'm looking forward to seeing those four windows of your clasroom on a sunny day when the sun goes through the glass flooding the place with lot of colours!

Just in case you fancy watching this video again!!

DESIGN FOR CHANGE.

¡¡Gran trabajo!! ¡FELICIDADES!

DIGITAL COLOUR WHEEL

This is the video we recorded yesterday afternoon with 1st A Digital Students. It is another ART INSTALLATION made up by Roque. He divided the big group into three small ones. There were six leaders giving the directions to get the right colours in order to form the colour wheel. Then, they put their tablets on the floor and here it is  our  DIGITAL COLOUR WHEEL. Not only did they practise with the primary, secondary and tertiary colours, but also with the brightness or darkness of a hue, yellow in this case. After the messy begining, we had a whale of a time!!

This is the farewell photo with the Digital Students and Roque. We wish him all the best!!!

900 COLOUR DOTS

¡Buen trabajo! ¡Felicidades a todos!

"900 COLOUR DOTS" is the name of the cheery art installation that Roque and 1st B students have displayed at the big windows of our cantine. The main aim of this work was to make students experiment with colour mixtures. Firstly, they were blending the three prymary colours of pigment (magenta, cyan and yellow) to get the secondary ones (orange, green and purple) and some other terciary hues. Thirty circles over acetate sheets were made by each student. Finally, they cut the circles out and arranged them to create this colourful vribant wave. Congrats everyone!!

Before attending their next class, this lovely group of students gave Roque a card signed by all of them. They thank for what they´ve learnt from him and wish Roque all the best. Not only are you good students, but good people.
